The 21-day National Lockdown may have put a stop to many of your day-to-day activities, but banking isn’t one of them. The power of online banking means that you can take care of all your banking needs from the comfort of your home.

We understand that this is a stressful time for all. Your safety, and the wellbeing of your loved ones, is important to us. That is why we are working round the clock to ensure that all essential banking services are available to you, when you need it. We encourage you to do your bit to “Flatten the Curve” and help prevent the spread of Coronavirus by staying home. Everything you need to do your banking is right at your fingertips.

You can keep track of your accounts, make payments, buy electricity, data or airtime, and so much more – all from your African Bank App, Cellphone Banking, and Internet Banking options.

The process is incredibly simple. Register on the African Bank website and follow the simple prompts. You can conduct your banking in a number of ways. You could opt for Cellphone Banking, which allows you to view your account balance, buy prepaid services and make payments. Simply dial *120*225# to accept the terms and start banking from your phone. You don’t need a smartphone to enjoy the convenience of banking from home.

For a greater range of functionality, installing the African Bank App will allow you to perform more complex actions like managing card limits, re-investing funds and even requesting a tax certificate. Search for African Bank on GooglePlay or AppStore to download and install. Using the App is FREE on Telkom, Vodacom, MTN and Cell C. African Bank covers all data costs once you have downloaded the App.

What else can you do online from home?

While protecting life remains the priority during this pandemic, we cannot ignore the financial impact of the Coronavirus. It is vitally important that you know your credit score – it plays a huge role in your ability to get credit in the future. Get your FREE credit report by clicking here.

You can also apply for a loan using African Bank internet banking or request a callback on the App or Cellphone Banking. You do however need to be over 18 years of age, have proof of your salary income and have 3 months worth of bank statements reflecting this income.

Fear and panic spread faster than any virus, especially in an age where all sorts of information is at our fingertips. We encourage you to only share information from credible news sources. Please follow the guidelines recommended by the World Health Organisation and the Department of Health. Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or an alcohol-based sanitiser. Together, we can beat the Rona. Stay safe, go online!
